Friday April 3, 2009 Derek and I passed the mark of being married for an entire SIX months! Wow, time really does fly by. Derek being the sweet man he is went out of his way to buy me a special treat. To preface: the night after we were engaged (July 26, 2008) we celebrated by eating my favorite treat at APPLEBEES... the yummy and delicious BLONDIE. Well, to bring back good memories Derek surprised me with a Blondie that he got from Applebees takeout. And this is how it went... we met up at a friends house to deliver a Meal (she just had a baby)and I wanted Derek to meet her husband. Well, since he was running late from taking "care" of somethings he had to do --I was totally oblivious to it all-- he just met me at their house. Well, as we were finally headed back he told me to hop in the truck instead of the car that I drove, so once again not thinking at all about WHY he would even want me to do that, I hoped in the truck. But, to my surpise he had right there in the seat next to me the delicous Blondie treat that I, OH SO LOVE!
Its been a great 6 months. We have had some great times, hard times, confused times, and even some sad times, but I must say I look back and can see that this marriage has been wonderful refinement for the both of us (which Heavenly Father certainly had planned for us) that has and will continue helping us become better people. Yes, marriage I admit... isn't always easy, but I am grateful to have the man I do to pass through it all with.

Happy 6 Month Anniversary!! Marriage isn't easy but it really does help when you have the perfect guy for you. And anyone who will surprise you with a blondie has to be on the way to perfection!
Yay! 6 whole months, time flys by huh....probably more so since he is studying all of the time :)

Congrats! That is quite a milestone! At least, I think it will be in June when I make it there!
You two are such a great couple my only regret is that you do not live closer to me! Soon enough...right?
My how time flies! I'm glad its been a good 6 months. I'm staring a year in the face and I don't know where it went. So I went on a bike ride today and I thought of you. I went down by the lake on the same route we took that ONE TIME we biked together. And coming up that huge hill I was reminded how we forgot water and were dying trying to get up it. It kicked my trash again, only this time I had water which was no comfort to my legs. So next time you're in town haul your bike along and plan it around a century ride :) and I'll join!
Congrats on the 6 month miles stone...you are well on your way to FOREVER!!! :) Just FYI...The Blonde treat is my absolute favorite as well (great minds think alike) and I actually have the recipe for it. So if you are interested shoot me an email and I will forward it on to ya. I've made it for a few get togethers here and there and it got rave reviews...tastes just like the Applebees version...only cheaper!
OH man, I remember when we were 2 weeks married and we thought, wow! We have been married two whole weeks! Then different couples in church commented during a lesson that they had been married a year and we were like wow, that is so long! Now we are working on year 6 and it's gone by faster than I can even imagine! Enjoy every minute that God gives you together!
