I can't believe that my baby is one-year-old today. I feel like he has grown and changed so much in this last month. He is becoming to clown and entertainer of our family and we love it! This first year with him has been sweet, wonderful, challenging, rewarding, and exciting all at the same time. We never knew that adding this little addition to our family could be so wonderful.
As his Mother, I have been amazed and the amount of LOVE I feel for this little boy. I knew I would love him, so don't get me wrong, I just never could comprehend how much I would love him. He is without a doubt a Momma's Boy. But, what else will you get when the two of us are together ALL of the time? He melts my heart and what I love seeing most is the bond between he and his Daddy growing stronger each day. Lincoln loves his Daddy and there is no question as to the amount that his Daddy loves him.
Lincoln has become such a fun social boy. He LOVE's playing with other kids, especially his cousins. The other night we got together with my sister, and my nephew Dylan got Lincoln laughing harder than I think he has ever laughed in his life. Now, those who know Lincoln know that he is one giggly boy, so to see him laugh that much harder was pretty funny. Lincoln loves to be scared (so long as he is not tired) surprise him by jumping out of nowhere...it always gets him laughing. He has never been much of a cuddler. He wants to be held but, almost NEVER will cuddle into you. But, much to my surprise last night he cuddled with me for a good 30 minutes... I think he knew he was growing up and better do what he can to make special moments with his Mom. :)
Some of the new things Lincoln likes to do:
* Playing Peek-A-Boo (he gets so excited that most of the time he can't find his eyes, but we play along anyway)
* Clapping his hands (once again his excitement makes it difficult to get the two hands together)
* Standing on his own
* Putting things on his head (not sure how this one got started)
* Rubbing his face into his blankets
* Giving open mouth kisses
* Pulling things down off anything that is taller than him
* Reading books (its adorable because he just does it on his own)
* Taking Baths and splashing us with the water
* Eating Pears, Bananas, Sweet Potatoes, most Pastas, Chicken Nuggets, Cheerios, and the list goes on.
* I learned the other day that he DOES NOT like for his hands to be dirty (for this reason he would not eat his birthday cake.
* Smiling (he has the most adorable and contagious smile we just love it)!
There are so many wonderful things about this boy that we just love. We are looking forward to what else he discovers in the big world each day. Lincoln weights around 22lbs and has 6 teeth.
We love you Linc!
