MOM’s 30th Birthday

I felt so special this birthday.  I had many moments this week of feeling grateful for my husband and little boys, as well as some dear friends. For memories sake I wanted to write the chain of events that went on this week.  Monday night I laid down to find a new can opener and believe me this was needed and I was pleased and excited.  On Tuesday he sent me through a wild goose chase to find a stepping stool for the kitchen.  I know right, you are thinking why would one what something like this for her birthday, but really I was thrilled beyond belief to have these items and not to mention it was just fun to find these little surprises.  Wednesday I went out for a girls night, much needed and kids were asleep when I got home as well as house cleaned up.  Smile  On Thursday Derek brought me dinner so I got the night of of cooking!  And Friday inside of the current book I was reading I found a letter that told me to drop everything I was doing and go pack!  I was excited and nervous all at the same time, as I had not been away for a night from Dustin.  But, he had Harmony Byam come stay with them and that gave me no reason to worry.

So, I spent the rest of Friday getting packed and cleaned up for a little night away.  We went to Sun Valley, it was fun to explore the little town and really nice to sleep through the night without waking to a child needing me (I enjoy taking care of the little guys, but, it was so nice to have a night off).  We woke up, went out to breakfast, explored some more and drove home.  It was so nice to get all that time one-on-one with Derek.  Its been way too long since we’ve really been able to talk like that uninterrupted.

We returned home, played with the boys went for a drive and got burgers at one of my new favorite spots, Idaho Burger and delicious pie!  And of course Derek surprised me with my favorite treat to eat at Applebee’s, a yummy Blondie.  Derek and I got the kids to bed and got to hang out some more.

Sunday morning I woke up to Lincoln with a present in hand.  They hand bought me a shirt and a nice sum of money to go towards my new wardrobe that I will be buying as soon as I drop 15 more pounds!  Smile

Thank you Derek!  I have a wonderful week and so sad that its over.  I love you!
