I am just over half way through the pregnancy (19 weeks) and I am already having troubles sleeping at night. First of all, Derek says I drink way too much water but I am thirsty all the time so I feel like I should. And in return from all the drinking I get up 4-6 times a night to use the bathroom. And what makes it all so complicated is that I can not seem to get comfortable anymore on my bed. I don't really even have that much of a belly yet but, it is already effecting me. Lets just say I am really in for it this next 4+ months. I have already begun using, oh about every pillow on our bed to get comfortable but, that's sure not very comfortable for Derek being that we have a Queen size bed. How did all of you pregnant women make it through this?
OH and about the Ultra Sound I promised to post. Well, my scanner is currently not working so thats on hold for now.

Oh honey... my only advice is for Derek. Derek, get used to NO room on the bed for a few more months. Well, that's not accurate. After that, you'll have a little boy hogging the bed. And short of having a catheter installed, you'll have to make peace with the potty.
I'm sorry Penny, that's awful! I wish I had some great advice for you but I was one of the lucky pregnant ladies who could sleep 13 hours every night straight. It was funny, though, in my first trimester, I had to get up more than I ever did in my third! If it makes you feel better, this is GREAT preparation for when that cute little boy is born.
I am sorry, like Lorie, I too sleep really well as a pregnant lady, BUT I am with you on the water issue! I feel like I don't get enough to drink and then I drink a lot at night and that is the only thing that ever wakes me up. Actually, this is funny but last night as an experiment, I stopped drinking anything about an hour before I went to bed. Then I used the restroom like 4 different times before I went to bed just in case, and I didn't have to wake up to go to the bathroom at all. Maybe a little TMI, but it might help!
Sorry, no advice...only my sympathies! Some things are just no fun and there's no getting around them. If you do get some good advice, pass it along. I will need it for next time. I struggled with sleep too.
I hear ya Penny - although I didnt efer go through the get up 50 times a night deal, I DID have major hip and pelvic pains MOST of my pregnancy and to top it off I got carple tunnel randomly (pregnant women can get this and it goes away after delivery), BUT it made for very restless and uncomfortable nights! No advice though sorry... sometimes we just have to tough it out... I felt like it was preparing me for very little sleep when my baby was born. :-) Hang in there and know that its for a good reason!! :-)
Drinking water is good for you...But yah, that stinks about not being able to sleep. Maybe you guys should convert to a king-sized bed! ;) There is a LOT more room!
