It is amazing how many new things have happened for our little guy this month. On the ninth month I felt as though I had very few updates and now I am hoping I can remember them all. :)
We kept wondering when and if Linc would start to officially crawl. He had an amazing "scoot" and reverse crawl going on but, nothing beyond that. Anyway, now I am wondering if the boy will ever stop moving because now he is crawling ALL over the place and into EVERYTHING I DON'T want him to be in. It is kind of funny how it all happened. Linc had a simple surgery right after his 9th month and we were expecting for our little Linc to be kind of down for a few days... well, the opposite happened and the day after his surgery he was officially crawling! I suppose he just wanted to make sure his Mom knew that he was okay. :)
Lincoln loves to EAT! Now those who know him (or have seen any pictures of him) know that is not knew... but, what is new about it all is that he loves to eat EVERYTHING! He has become our little vacuum and I have now realized that i need to vacuum everyday because he finds things I couldn't even see. The best thing about it all is that he gets so upset when I pull something which he found out of his mouth. He looks at me with his sad eyes and starts to cry as if to say, "MOM, I was eating that, you don't take food from a starving child!" It is really quite humorous. Anyone out there know when this stage ends?
Along with the crawling he has also learned to climb up on things (including stairs). He thinks he is a champ when he gets up on something but, then with the look of terror looks at me and with his eyes begging me to get him down! What a goofy kid. The best thing about it all is when I see something that I don't want him to climb on, within seconds he is already climbing on that item. Can your kids read your mind? Because Lincoln sure seems to be good at it with me.
Lincoln LOVES his Momma. This is without a doubt sweet as can be but, frustrating when he wants you every moment. When he is happy he is independent and will want nothing to do with me or anyone (just he and the treasures he can find in the carpet ;)). But, if he is tired, hurting, sad, or hungry he wants nothing to do with anyone but Momma (with the exception when his is hysterical and won't go to sleep, Daddy is the ONLY one that can get him to sleep on those late long nights). When Linc wants me he will cry out something that sounds like "Momma".
Linc now has 4 Teeth and we are thinking more are coming in because we have had some really difficult nights. He has always been a great sleeper but, up until the last few weeks he has been waking up at least once throughout the night screaming bloody murder. I almost feel like I have a new-born again! Sure is GREAT birth control. Linc has been sick very little during his ten months (really only one little cold that he got from both Mom and Dad). But, those teeth sure do make up for it. Does anyone else have that many issues with a teething baby?
Some of the things Linc likes to eat (besides paper):
Bananas
peaches
green beans
Sweet Potatoes
crackers (of any kind)
Anything we are having for Dinner
Apple Sauce
Oatmeal
Cheerios
Really the list goes on but, those are some of his favorites. He loves feeding him self and has been great at if for many weeks now. He really seems to have great hand-eye coordination.
Lincoln has really started to love when we read books to him. It is nice because it is one of the rare moments in the day I can get him to sit quietly and still. I have really started reading A LOT more to him these days because those quite and still moments are priceless these days. ;)
He continues to be VERY ticklish and is so fun when Daddy tickles him because he knows whats coming and starts laughing before the tickling even starts.
There is surely so much more to tell but, my memory fails me. We are in love with Lincoln and so happy to have him in our family.
P.S. Pictures to come soon!
