Things to remember about Dustin…

 

Dustin is now just over two months old, time is flying by!  Something I didn’t talk about in his birth story on the other post was that we were so lucky to have Grammy Wesel come and help for an entire week right after he was born!  We were so grateful to have her here, as we were all trying to figure out how to do this all. 

For Dustin’s first month he was a pretty good sleeper and then he surprised us by refusing to sleep after that.  We have all become pretty sleep deprived, but he continues to be so darn cute, so its ok.  Dustin loves to be held and cuddled.  We were not use to this because Lincoln from day one wanted to be put down to sleep, but Dustin he is the total opposite of that. 

But, last night we hit a mile stone with the sleeping and really hoping it was not a fluke.  He was in bed at 9:30 and squirmed around 11:30, so Derek went in to get him, picked him up burped him and put him back down, expecting him to wake up soon again.  Much to my surprise, I woke up and it was already 5:30am.  I thought Derek was up taking care of him and expecting it to be 1am or so.  But, Dustin didn’t get one once since the 11:30 squirms.  Lets just say, it felt good to get over 7 hours of straight sleep…honestly it was the first time since I was 2 months pregnant that I had that much time of uninterrupted sleep.  So, thank you Dustin! 

About 2 weeks ago (1.5 months old), Dustin started to really start grabbing everything with his hands.  He still has very little control of them but, when he finds something he does not loosen that grip! 

Since we’ve brought Dustin home he has been bathed in our bathroom sink.  I am sad to say that I will only be able to do that for a little while longer because it just works out perfectly for us. 

Dustin loves to sleep on his belly… I know this a no-no.  But, he is just so happy there. 

He is getting big and has his two month appointment on Friday.  I am guessing he is at least 12 pounds, maybe more.  We love this little guy and so glad that he and Lincoln seem to be hitting it off!
