There are many things I don’t want to forget about my little ones so, in effort to document these things here they are:
Lincoln:
Linc will be 3 years old in just over a MONTH! I can not believe it. This year he has grown so much and has brought so much laughter into our home.
His vocabulary is growing by the day! Each day he surprises me by the new things he has learned. We were in Costco the other day and there was a Manger Scene and he yelled out, “Mom, baby Jesus Christ!”, it really takes an entire community to raise a child, because I am pretty sure this was something he learned in nursery not from me. The other day I was telling him he could do something that he was resisting to do. This was our conversation:
Mom: “You are a big boy, you can do it.”
Linc: No I little boy
Mom: Dustin is a little boy
Linc: Dutin no Little boy he tiny boy!
This morning while I was changing Dustin Linc told me, “Mom, you do good job”. He loves to praise me and calls me a Princess as least once a day. Mind you I NEVER encouraged the “princess” thing, it just happened somehow, it was ALL him.
When he is sad I often tell him things like, “I promise you will be okay…” Well, a few weeks ago we were in the car and Dustin was hysterical and crying up a storm. Linc looks over at Dustin and with a sweet calm voice said, “Dutin, I promise, no be sad,” Linc loves his brother so much, he often comes over and kisses him on the head and tells him, “I love you Dutin”. About a month ago Derek had Drill on a Sunday. Well, in order to be able to teach my CTR 4 class, I asked Sister Hendrix to take Dustin for those two hours. After Sacrament meeting I walked over with the kids to pass Dustin onto her. Well, Lincoln must of thought I was giving Dustin away, he started screaming and crying about someone taking his “tiny brother”.
His current toy favorites: Cars cars, airplanes, helicopters, Spiderman, Thomas the train, Trucks, Blocks, a Cougar that Grandma Pearl gave him, and any kid of lid! LOL. Lincoln is very creative and imaginative. He creates something out of nothing all the time. Any lid is a wheel of some sort. He likes to make believe and become a pirate or lightening mcqueen. He had two mac n’ cheese boxes the other day and crossed them, which for him was an airplane. His celling fan in the bedroom is a helicopter and his light is a Moon. He loves nothing more than when Mom and or Dad get on all fours with him and pretend to be Tigers or Dinosaurs.
He is such a picky eater… I never know day to day what this kid will eat. But, I have learned that if I “force feed him” he will fight it up until the spoon or fork hits his lips, at that point he just opens his mouth and eats it without any problem (most of the time). Makes me crazy! But, he does like these foods most of the time: Carrots, Peanut butter and honey sandwiches, Cereal, Oatmeal, yogurt, Spaghetti, Chicken Nuggets, and who knows what else day to day.
He has been sleeping in a big boy bed most of 2012. My favorite was the night I checked on his and he was sleeping in a kneeling position (as if praying) next to the bed. He has a Thomas the Train bed set (Thanks to Dylan and Carrie), he loves his bed and if we’ve been goon most of the day, he usually runs to his bed with excitement saying, “THOMAS BED”! Linc fights naps a lot these days, but this doesn’t stop me from putting him in his room! Most of the time he will fall asleep, but lets be honest, there are times he just plays the entire time.
Any building with a “point” of some sort is a Temple. He like to Build! He will sit for hours just stacking whatever he can and if the tower seems to be starting to fall, he takes of what is making it fall and finds something that works in place of it. He loves the computer and wants it all to himself (which NEVER happens). He loves bath time, but HATES getting raisin hands and feet, makes him mad every time! He continues to be a Momma’s boy, but LOVES playing with his Daddy. He started potty training him self the Saturday we brought baby brother home! But, that has since slowed down but, we are currently working encouraging him again.
Lincoln has had strep throat 7 times this year! He will be getting his Tonsils out on December 31st, oh how we are excited for that. He will also be starting preschool the beginning of the year 2013 and taking a Bus (more updates on that in the near future).
He is so fun to have around. I think we will keep him… We love you Linc!
