Oh Lincoln we LOVE YOU!
Lincoln has become very willing to try new foods. Many months ago Derek was eating some canned baby clams (I feel sick just thinking about eating them), Lincoln asked for a bite and Derek said, "Ok, but you may not like them". With one bite we thought Lincoln would spit them out and never want them again. Well, much to our surprise Lincoln LOVED them and ate at least half the can.
Last week we got take out at Panda Express, I grabbed a few to-go soy-sauce packets. After eating Lincoln asked if he could have some of that "juice". Derek of course let him try some, he filled a spoon-full of soy-sauce and Lincoln started sipping away. With the first sip, he gave a sour-faced look, and said to Derek, "you want to try?', Derek said no thank-you and so Lincoln decided to drink the rest of it him-self.
Just a few days after that we were eating dinner, I can not even remember what we were eating but, he asked for a spoon-full of butter. And once again he happily ate it all. This time we got it on video. Which is attached.
Lincoln thank you for being so willing to try new things, but seriously some of things you decide to try are rather interesting.
I recently asked Lincoln what his favorite food is, and he replied with excitement, "LETTUCE!"
This handsome dude of ours has become so funny. If he does not know a word to something he wants to say or describe he will just make up his own word in place of it, it never makes sense but, to him it works because he knows what he is saying!
This was our conversation the other day (between Mom and Lincoln):
L: Mom, I am going to hug you, okay?
M: Okay! But, what makes you want to hug me right now?
L: Because I love you Mom!
5 minutes after that conversation...
L: Mom, thankyou for everything you do...
I am not sure what he was after that day, but it was sweet and adorable. He has continued every day since that telling me other sweet things, often it is telling me how beautiful he thinks I am. He melts my heart and I feel so lucky to be his Mom, even when I want to beat him. ;)
Lincoln learned about germs in preschool at the beginning of the school year. Still to this day he won't stop talking about them, when he sees something that is dirty or appears to be dirty, he tells me it has germs and we are going to be sick because of them.
We started some new chores for Lincoln and one of them is to make his bed. Here is a picture of when he was so proud of his work one day!
You have probably noticed that Lincoln wears that green "basket ball" outfit a lot in these recent pictures. Well, I nearly need to wash that every day! Lincoln has stated to really be interested in basketball and puts this outfit of which he calls his "basketball clothes" every time he wants to play. And he wants to play EVERYDAY. I don't let him wear it to school (this is the time I use to wash to sad outfit), but the second he comes home he puts it on. last week was wear crazy clothes at school, I let him wear the basket-ball outfit on top of some other clothes that were inside-out, he was so happy about that day since I have not let him wear it to school in over a month (due to the cooler weather).
Lincoln adores his little brother, he gets annoyed by the fact that he likes to follow him everywhere he goes, but for the most part they get along well and make each-other laugh a lot! I am so happy that they have each other.
We love you buddy! Thank you for all the many laughs you give us these days, this may be our favorite stage yet!
